Hide It Under A Bushel... NO!

Something that came up in conversation this week really shines a light on schools today and all that is wrong with our society.  A friend and I were discussing how so many parents are now choosing to home school their kids, which wasn't a big thing 10+ years ago. Some parents have good reasons and in some circumstances it's a better fit for the child absolutely.

But if you're on the fence or your the parent that may just be worried about your child's well being, and them being corrupted by the world,

think about that action and what the consequences are for the lost children in our school systems if we completely remove the LIGHT from our schools. Today's kids are a picture of the path our schools are going down, and slowly as more light is being taken away, more and more sin and confusion are entering in.

In school I had plenty of opportunities to share the gospel with friends and we are called to do so. Romans 10:13-15 says "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!"  We as Christians can't put ourselves in a bubble thinking the world "can't touch us", when it's the world that needs HIS touch through us? School is and should be a mission field for your children.

When they turn 18 and they head off to college, no longer can you protect them. In fact many kids who were home schooled go off to college and into the real world and don't know how to cope with "the world" being thrown at them. Christian colleges are now a liberal breeding ground and more often than not, all the values instilled in them up until now are gone by the wayside. Students turn to the belief systems of the professors who teach false doctrine because they are surrounded with it everyday. But if they go into college already having the experience with the world and how to detect false doctrine, their chance at coming out of college still standing STRONG in their faith are much higher odds.
